Green Business Certification

Certification Awareness - Our World is committed to fostering a green awareness in the business community.  We host workshops for businesses who are interested in having their company certified by the county as a green business.  We also tend to occasionally soap-box about social responsibility in the business world…

Certification Consulting - Becoming certified as a green business is something like cleaning out the garage. You want to get certified, you know at some point you’ll do it, but with the day to day tasks of actually running your business you don’t have much time to dedicate to your certification.  We will sit down to discuss your goals, evaluate your business based on the current green certification checklists and determine what changes are needed in order to become green certified.  If you need help implementing the changes, we also have a team who can help.

We’ve developed a partnership with local government agencies, business vendors and non-profit resources to offer creative, low-cost solutions.  We know the common financial and operational obstacles and will help you overcome those to achieve your green certification.  One of the side benefits of being green certified by the county is that the county markets green businesses and have special recognition programs!

Employee Training - Creating an environment of green practices is the first step toward certification and providing your employees with the resources and education is the critical next step.  We partner with businesses to develop an in-house training program including collateral such as training materials, presentations, posters, etc to ensure that employees are supported in the company’s green efforts.

Green Business Networking - Though it’s still in the early stages, we are working on a networking group for green businesses.  We currently have a Northern California group which meets the first Friday of each month for a few hours to discuss initiatives to help foster greater awareness and share ideas on growing our businesses.  If you’re interested in attending these meetings, drop a line and we’ll get you set up.
