Green Business Certification

Certification Awareness - Our World is committed to fostering a green awareness in the business community.  We host workshops for businesses who are interested in having their company certified by the county as a green business.  We also tend to occasionally soap-box about social responsibility in the business world…

Certification Consulting - Becoming certified as a green business is something like cleaning out the garage. You want to get certified, you know at some point you’ll do it, but with the day to day tasks of actually running your business you don’t have much time to dedicate to your certification.  We will sit down to discuss your goals, evaluate your business based on the current green certification checklists and determine what changes are needed in order to become green certified.  If you need help implementing the changes, we also have a team who can help.

We’ve developed a partnership with local government agencies, business vendors and non-profit resources to offer creative, low-cost solutions.  We know the common financial and operational obstacles and will help you overcome those to achieve your green certification.  One of the side benefits of being green certified by the county is that the county markets green businesses and have special recognition programs!

Employee Training - Creating an environment of green practices is the first step toward certification and providing your employees with the resources and education is the critical next step.  We partner with businesses to develop an in-house training program including collateral such as training materials, presentations, posters, etc to ensure that employees are supported in the company’s green efforts.

Green Business Networking - Though it’s still in the early stages, we are working on a networking group for green businesses.  We currently have a Northern California group which meets the first Friday of each month for a few hours to discuss initiatives to help foster greater awareness and share ideas on growing our businesses.  If you’re interested in attending these meetings, drop a line and we’ll get you set up.

Business Consulting

Business Planning - A strong business starts with a strong business plan; we can help you create a living document to get you on the right track and give your business a solid foundation.  Business plans are also a must when you’re seeking financing or modifying your core operations.

Project Planning and Implementation - If you have a special project in mind requiring skills outside your company’s expertise, or if your current staff is at maximum capacity and you don’t want to add headcount, opting for a business consultant is an economical way to accomplish your goals.

Operations Management - We have a solid background in process documentation and analysis and can partner with you and your team to document and review your current processes, identify opportunities and create a workable plan to implement changes.  Businesses in start-up mode also rely on Our World to establish core operations and develop key collateral such as logos, business cards, websites and marketing literature.
